ABOUT THE SHOW
SIX: TEEN EDITION is a full-length adaptation of Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’ international phenomenon SIX, modified for performance by teen actors for family audiences.
Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the mic to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st-century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over.
SIX: TEEN EDITION includes all songs from the original version, with reimagined lines and lyrics to minimize suggestive language and alternate line changes to reframe UK references for a US audience.
AUDITIONS
Auditions for both Summer 2024 productions will take place on Saturday May 18th and Monday, May 20th. Callbacks for the show will be on Tuesday, May 21st by invitation. This is a very vocally demanding show, and we will require specific cuts of songs from the show at auditions. Stay tuned for more specific requirements.
The initial audition will consist of a singing audition and acting exercise. The invitational callbacks will include dance, singing, and readings from the script. We will be casting ages 14-19.
Audition Requirements:
Please prepare one of the six audition cuts found in this folder. Your audition should be memorized and show your ability to portray the character’s emotions, mannerisms, etc. We will play the backing track for you at the auditions.
If you are invited to callbacks, we may ask you to sing a cut from one or two roles that we are considering you for, so please be somewhat familiar with the show and all these cute before auditions.
If you are auditioning for Footloose as well, there is no need to prepare a separate vocal audition.
Please note: There is a $175 tuition to participate in this MainStage production. If the tuition would create a hardship for your family, please apply for a scholarship.
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals will be more intensive than a typical production to account for our short rehearsal period. If you will have more than 2 conflicts for these rehearsals, please do not audition. Rehearsals will be held on the following days:
Saturday, 2-5pm and 6-9pm
Monday, 6-9pm
Tuesday, 6-9pm
Wednesday, 6-9pm
The first rehearsal will be Saturday, May 25. There will be a mandatory tech week Sun, June 16th – Thursday, June 20th.
