About the Instructors
Nicholas Masson is proud to be a Peacock Players alumnus. Originally from Hudson, New Hampshire, Nic made his professional stage debut at the age of ten, in the national touring production of the Broadway musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Following his appearances in several local and regional theatrical productions, Masson graduated from Alvirne High School in 2014. He subsequently attended Point Park University in Pittsburgh, where he majored in dance. Nic then appeared in the first national tour of Disney Theatrical Productions’ Newsies the Musical, in the role of Mush. He was also appeared as a replacement in the role of Crutchie on tour. Nic then appeared in the role of Mush for the Disney film production of the stage musical – which had a limited theatrical release in selected movie theatres in 2017. In addition to his work as an Equity performer, Nic has also taught dance, having served on the dance faculty at the Broadway Connection in New York as a teaching artist.
Valerie Psoinos Nelson is proud to be a Resident Artist at Peacock Players. She has choreographed over twenty-five Peacock Players Mainstage productions, and is excited to be choreographing our upcoming Mainstage production of Newsies. Valerie has received the New Hampshire Theatre Award for Best Choreography four times – for her work on Peacock Players Mainstage productions of Heathers the Musical, Spring Awakening, The Wedding Singer, and Peter Pan (which – coincidentally – Nicholas Masson appeared in). Valerie is a guidance counselor at Londonderry High School – where she also serves as the director of the Drama Club.
