Moulin Rouge Dance Workshop

About the Workshop

Because you can, can, can! Join Peacock Players Resident Artist, Meg King (a.k.a. The Sparkling Diamond) as she shares the engaging and modern choreography based on the feature film and new Broadway musical Moulin Rouge. Workshop participants will shake off the winter blues learning an athletic musical theatre combo from Broadway’s newest bohemian blockbuster. Sharpen your dancing skills, while enjoying safe in-person time with all your friends – at Peacock Players, New Hampshire’s premiere award-winning theatre organization.

About the Instructor

Meg King has been dancing since age 3, and has studied tap, jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary, lyrical, theatre dance, and hip hop. A fan of numbers, math, and science, she got her degrees in environmental engineering from the University of New Hampshire, but has always found her passion lies in dance. She has participated in the international dance festival Dance Excellence, as well as participated with Chicago Human Rhythm Project and #TapLifeToo guest teacher series. In addition to teaching dance classes, Meg has worked with youth and community theatre groups throughout southern New Hampshire as director, choreographer, and dance captain for various musicals and dance productions.

Trolls Dance Party Workshop

About the Workshop

Trolls just want to have fun! Join Peacock Players Resident Artist, Meg King (a.k.a. Lady Glittersparkels) as she shares her energetic and engaging choreography to music from the feature film Trolls. Workshop participants will put their hair in the air (like they just don’t care) and shake off those winter blues. Workshop participants are encouraged to dress up like their favorite Trolls and spend the day strengthening their dancing skills, while enjoying safe in-person time with their friends – and maybe even making a few new friends in the process.

Hairspray Dance Workshop

About the Workshop

Join “the coolest kids in town” and Peacock Players Resident Artist (and NH Theatre Award Top Three Finalist for Best Choreography) Cristina Cummings as she shares her energetic and engaging choreography from our highly acclaimed Mainstage production of Hairspray. Workshop participants will learn two different combinations from our celebrated 2018 Mainstage production and discover first-hand that “you can’t stop the beat”. Sharpen your dancing skills, while enjoying safe in-person time with your friends – and maybe even make a few new friends in the process.

About the Instructor

Cristina Cummings is a two-time graduate of University of New Hampshire, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development, and a Masters in Elementary Education. A Peacock Players Resident Artist since 2016, Cristina has been constantly training, studying the craft, and fueling her passion for dance. She has choreographed musicals all over New Hampshire, and has received multiple nominations for Best Choreographer at the New Hampshire Theatre Awards – including a Top Three Finalist honor for Hairspray (Peacock Players 2018). When not choreographing musicals, she is teaching dance at her family’s dance studio, East Coast Dance Complex in Dover, NH or painting in her art studio for her Etsy business, CustomizedByCristina.

Please Note

Mandatory COVID-19 safety procedures and policies will be in effect while participating during this Peacock Players In-Person Workshop (including but not limited to):

  • All participants must wear masks and face coverings at all times within the building.
  • Only workshop participants will be allowed inside the building during the workshop.
  • All workshop participants must undergo health screenings and temperature checks before entering the building.
  • Peacock Players will professionally sanitize and disinfect all areas before and after each workshop.
  • Peacock Players has installed two CDC recommended 500 square foot industrial air purifiers in the workshop area.
  • Peacock Players will provide hand sanitizer and multiple hand sanitizer stations throughout the building.
  • All choreography and workshop staging will remain socially distant at all times.
