About the Play…Our FIRST EVER Student Produced Title

Based on the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale and Disney film, The Little Mermaid JR. follows the magical story of Ariel, a mermaid who wants to be a part of the human world–  but to do so, she needs to bargain with Ursula the sea witch and convince Prince Eric that she is the girl he has been looking for! Featuring music and lyrics by award winning composers like Alan Menkin, Glenn Slater, and Howard Ashman, The Little Mermaid JR. and its messages about friendship and following your dreams, is sure to delight audiences of all ages with a popular soundtrack that includes songs such as “Part of Your World,” “Under the Sea,” and “Kiss the Girl.”

Important Required Dates

REHEARSALS (starting June 6th)

Rehearsals will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6pm-9pm. Not every cast member will be called to every rehearsal. Please be prepared to list all known conflicts at your audition. Tech week rehearsals will take place July 31st-August 4th and will be longer rehearsals. July 31st will be from 1pm-5pm and rehearsals during the week will be from 5pm-9pm. Tech week rehearsals and performances are mandatory for all performers and crew members.

What to Prepare for Auditions

Auditions are open for ages 8-18 and will take place in-person on Monday, May 30th and Tuesday, May 31st from 6pm-9pm at 14 Court Street in Nashua. Online Submissions are also welcome and due by 6pm on May 30th . To schedule an in-person or video audition please CLICK HERE. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 3 days of form submission, please send an email to [email protected]. Walk-ins will be accepted as the schedule allows, but pre-scheduling a time is highly encouraged.

Please prepare a 32 bar cut (or a 1 minute selection) of a song of your choice that matches the style of the show. You may sing a capella or you may provide an accompaniment track. A speaker to plug your device into will be provided at the in-person audition. We will also have an accompanist available if you provide sheet music.

Please note that if cast there will be a $150 fee to participate in the production. If the full cost would prohibit participation, please CONTACT US to apply for a student scholarship.
