Darius Harper

Peacock Players Alumni

Biography

Darius Anthony Harper is a proud native of Nashua, NH. Darius owes much of his humble beginnings to Peacock Players. Along with other local theatres, including Actorsingers, MSM Players, The Acting Loft, and The Seacoast Rep, Peacock Players was among the first theatres Darius would be introduced to. Upon graduating Nashua High School North in 2004, Darius attended The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC.

Soon after college, Darius became a resident member of the Arizona Broadway Theatre – performing in Crazy For You, Kiss Me Kate and La Cage Aux Folles! Soon thereafter, he would move to Japan and star in Big Band Beat at the Tokyo Disney Resort. His Disney career would last about three years, and commence after a successful run on the Disney Cruise Lines in 2009. Darius would go on to obtain his Equity card from The Arkansas Repertory Theatre, where he starred in Smokey Joes Café.

Darius was an original cast member of The Book of Mormon (Chicago) and would go on to star in Kinky Boots (in the role of Lola) on the First National Tour. You can currently catch Darius on tour with Cirque Du Soleil as the lead singer in their newest touring production of Volta.

Future projects include the pre-Broadway development of The Preacher’s Wife, conceived and developed by three-time Emmy nominee Tituss Burgess.
