CAN’T WAIT… CAN’T WAIT… CAN’T WAIT… FOR 13
Nashua, NH – Peacock Players, New Hampshire’s premiere award winning youth theatre, proudly presents the new Broadway musical sensation “13, THE MUSICAL” at the Janice B. Streeter Theater, located at 14 Court Street, in Nashua, NH, for two weekends in November.
A grown-up story about growing up! When his parents get divorced and he’s forced to move from New York to a small town in Indiana, Evan Goldman just wants to make friends and survive the school year. Easier said than done. The star quarterback is threatening to ruin his life and his only friend, Patrice, won’t talk to him. The school freak sees an opportunity for blackmail and someone is spreading the nastiest rumors. With an unforgettable rock score from Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, “13″ is a hilarious, high-energy musical for all ages about discovering that cool is where you find it, and sometimes where you least expect it.
The Peacock Players Mainstage production will be directed by acclaimed Artistic Director, and two-time Broadway veteran, Keith Weirich. Musical Director, Henry Kopczynskie III, and Choreographer, Shaina Schwartz, will also lend their extraordinary talents toward the production.
The cast features local favorites Daniel Schwartzberg (of Bedford) as Evan Goldman, Marisa Bingham (of Hollis) as Patrice, Danny Shea (of Nashua) as Brett, Miranda Mail (of Nashua) as Kendra, Samantha Migneault (of Hudson) as Lucy, and Taylor Morrow (of Nashua) as Archie. The rest of the “13” cast member ensemble is rounded out with New Hampshire’s most recognized and awarded young performers.
“13 is irresistible, riotously funny and remarkably ingenious,” says Weirich. “It is one of those rare musicals that provides the perfect entertainment – an ingenious blend of laughter, simplicity and sophistication. It’s not merely funny, it’s wise.”
This Peacock Players Mainstage production will be sponsored in part by Costumes of Nashua, and the Telegraph ENCORE.
Please note that 13 is rated PG. Parental Guidance is suggested.
13 marks the second production of Peacock Players 35th Annual Mainstage season. “the best American children’s book of the past two hundred years,”
—The Children’s Literature Association
Based on the children’s classic by E.B. White.
The Children’s Literature Association named this “the best American children’s book of the past two hundred years,” and Joseph Robinette, working with the advice of E.B. White, has created a play that captures this work in a thrilling and utterly practical theatrical presentation. The costumes and unit set may be quite simple-it’s the story and relationships that make the show-or they may be as colorful and elaborate as you wish. All the enchanting characters are here: Wilbur, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl who understands what animals say to each other; Templeton, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; the Zuckerman family; the Arables; and, most of all, the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be “a true friend and a good writer.” Determined to save Wilbur, Charlotte begins her campaign with the “miracle” of her web in which she writes, “Some pig.” It’s the beginning of a victorious campaign, which ultimately ends with the now-safe Wilbur doing what is most important to Charlotte. This is a beautiful, knowing play about friendship that will give your actors a great opportunity and your audience an evening of enchantment.
