YOUNG COMPANY

Peacock Players, New Hampshire’s premiere award-winning youth theatre, is proud to offer our most select educational theatre program, Young Company. Young Company is a summer-long intensive for the advanced young theatre professional, which focuses on excellence in all aspects of theatre.

Young Company members are encouraged and challenged in stagecraft, design, backstage production, and performance, as well as share in the mentoring process for younger students as camp counselors at our Peacock Players Summer Theatre Camp.

THE YOUNG COMPANY COMMITMENT

During the 2008 Summer Season, Young Company members will have an option of performing in our Family musical production of Barnum. Family members, alumni and friends of Peacock Players will join together to rework this classic musical favorite based on the exciting life of circus showman, P. T. Barnum. Barnum will run for four performances from Friday, July 18^th through Sunday, July 20^th. Barnum rehearsals will be held Mondays through Fridays from 7pm-10pm, beginning on Monday, June 2^nd.

Young Company members will also be showcased in their own fully-mounted Peacock Players Mainstage production. This summer Young Company will perform in the smash hit musical, Little Shop of Horrors. Little Shop of Horrors will run for four performances from Friday, August 1^st through Sunday, August 3^rd. This production’s rehearsals will be held Mondays through Fridays from 4pm-7pm, beginning on Monday, June 2^nd.

This year Young Company members will mentor other young students as camp counselors-in-training for both sessions of Peacock Players Summer Camp, and will serve as the design and backstage production team for the Camp Showcase performances scheduled for Friday, July 25^th and Friday, August 15^th. Camp hours scheduled Monday through Friday from 9am-3pm, beginning on Monday, July 7^th and ending on Friday, August 15^th.

THE YOUNG COMPANY AUDITION & INTERVIEW

Auditions for Young Company will be held Monday, May 12^th & Tuesday, May 13^th from 6pm-9pm at 14 Court Street in Nashua, with invited only callback interviews on Wednesday, May 14^th between 6pm-9pm.

Please prepare a short musical selection and a one-minute monologue that showcases your singing and acting talents. Singing from either Barnum or Little Shop of Horrors is acceptable. Please bring a headshot or photo, a resume or list of theatre experience (on and off-stage), and your own sheet music, as an accompanist will be provided.
